In the 1950s and 1960s toy rifle cap guns were almost as popular as toy cap pistols. Most of the major manufacturers made cap firing toy rifles. Most used the same caps in the rifles as the cap pistols. Some used bullets that could be loaded with caps. Cap firing rifles were designed after an original western rifle, constructed of solid die-cast metal and plastic stocks that looked real wood. Kids loved getting decked out in western cloth, a rifle and two cap guns by their side.
